  • [Fun] First time I've seen the green light direction sticks

Tonight, I noticed a long line of green light sticks held by CMs as I walked from BTMRR back through Frontierland and to the Plaza. Asked a CM, turns out they were for directing a large group of people back to Big Thunder Ranch for a meeting. A meeting of a ton of international executives for Volleyball or something. Weird that an International Volleyball Association would have a high level meeting of executives at BTR at Disneyland. Weird that it was just for dinner and no attractions stayed open. But COOL that they used the green light sticks to direct them. Never seen that before.

Do green light sticks mean something or are they just special because they're green?

Could you please expand on the reason for it being weird? Thanks.

It was weird because I'd never seen it before at Disneyland. A CM was standing about every 10 yards holding a green light stick in the air, some of the CMs were waving them. It was a trail for the Volleyball execs to follow back to BTR for their meeting. From the Plaza, you could see about a dozen of the lights going into Frontierland. Just an odd sight.

Maybe it's because with the other color airplanes were confusing Disneyland as an airport?

I stopped in for dinner last night and saw the green lights too. They are bigger, brighter, and flash rapidly. They were directing a large number of well dressed people through security, into DCA, and into Hollywood Land. I didn't follow but would guess they had something set up in the Hyperion Theater.
