  • [Question] Best touring planning resource? RideMax or Unofficial Guide Tour Plans?

I have access to both, but we're getting down to the nitty gritty details here. Which is the best planning tool? (I've used the Unofficial Guide Touring plans at WDW before, but I've heard good things about RideMax.)

    Any other advice?

    Thanks!

Re: Best touring planning resource? RideMax or Unofficial Guide Tour Plans?

I can only speak as a former RideMax user. I found it very helpful as a general planning tool, but never tried to follow one of its plans through a day (well, one time we were going to, but Splash Mountain was first on the list and it was shut down when we arrived and the plan went into the trash).

I plugged in the rides I wanted to go on and ran that through the app multiple times. It didn't take long to figure out the most-efficient approach. Basically it comes down to always be collecting Fastpasses and never going on a Fastpass ride without such a pass, hitting New Orleans Square during Fantasmic, and other tips you'll find all over MiceChat. Nevertheless, it was money well spent for me because I use its basic principles every time I go to the parks.

If you go to the parks during less busy times of the year (10a-8p hours) there won't be any problem going on the all the rides you want and you can avoid the whole thing (just get FPs for the big rides).
