i know that there is the "ring in the new year" fireworks show on new years eve, but is there anything else special about new years at disneyland?

Re: new years eve at disneyland?
When I attended NYE at Disneyland three years ago they passed out top hats.
Any day at Disneyland is special."She's taking everything. She's taking the house, she's taking the kid, she's taking the dog. IT'S NOT EVEN HER DOG. IT'S MY DOG! SHE'S TAKING . . . MY DOG!"

I've always wanted to be at Dland for New Years Eve but it can get really really crowded and after doing the 5/5/05 crowd...I would rather chew razor blades than go through crowds like that ever again.
Still I think it would be an interesting experience.

Re: new years eve at disneyland?
We use to spend every New Years Eve at Disneyland! It's so much fun! They usually have music playing at different areas in the park. The thing is to get there early as they will reach capacity. Take your time around the park and just be prepared for crowds and more crowds. Don't expect to get on rides quickly or anything of that sort. But most of all just have fun!Jeff Wayne

Re: new years eve at disneyland?
I have been there the last 6 years it's awesome. As far as the crowds go it's always crowded at Disneyland to me it's just more people stay later and are congested to Main Street and in front of the castle. Your agenda on New years Eve should be to just enjoy being there not trying to go on a lot of attractions. It's not really that bad IMO which is why i go year after year.
Last year a lot more people were going over to DCA so the gates actually never got to the point of letting no one in. I do think they stopped selling tickets though but i forget. i was more amazed the gates weren't closed that was a first for NYE that I had seen. These are some of my favorite TRs I have posted

Re: new years eve at disneyland?
I didn't have anything better to do this last NYE, so I went despite the warnings of crowds, and it really wasn't that crowded. Of course there were stories of record crowds on the news in the week leading up to it, so that might have scared a lot of people off. During the day it was busy, but manageable:

By afternoon it was on the very busy side, especially at the E-tickets:

By evening, people started congregating in the party spots, mostly the Plaza and Main Street, leaving the rest of the park quiet:

I ended up at one of the smaller parties near iasw. Not too crowded, bathrooms nearby, easy to get something to eat at Village Haus, and a good view of the fireworks (or, it would have been if it weren't for the fog).

If you go I would recommend getting there as early as possible, hitting the E-tickets early and/or later toward evening, use the busy afternoon to relax a bit and take in the less popular rides and shows, and then settle in at one of the smaller parties and avoid the main one in front of the castle..

Re: new years eve at disneyland?
that first picture of tomorrowland really emphasizes what a poor use of space the peoplemover track has become! all that room, and they're doing nothing with it. i know that's been said many times, but for some reason that picture just really made it apparent to me.
and for some weird reason, even seeing the crowded pictures of the park made me want to try new years eve there. although i think i'd have to go to the dca side for some adult beverages
