Re: underground
When I worked there in the late 80's at the Star Trader, we would take a tunnel from Tomorrowland to Fronteirland in order to watch Tinkerbell fly from the Matterhorn into a mattress.

Guest repliedRe: underground
explodingboy is right. Disneyland was not built with tunnels like the Magic Kingdom in Florida. In fact, it was Disneyland's lack of efficient navigation that gave designers the idea to include a level of tunnels and offices below the park, even though there was much more room in Florida to include park infrastructure above ground.
That being said, there are some localized underground tunnels in Disneyland. The Indy queue is sort of one of them, while there is another connecting the Peoplemover Loading tower with one of the nearby buildings. If my memory serves me correctly, there is also a tunnel connecting the Tomorrowland terrace stage to the building.
Resort wide, there is also another visible tunnel backstage. It connects the service roads on the east sides of Disneyland and DCA, travelling under the shuttle and toy story lot bus loading areas.

Re: underground
I think you may be thinking of WDW, which has way more underground tunnels than Disneyland.
