I read a story on micechat or some where else that the Angels might move to the city of Industry when the lease ends in the near future. So I started to think what would The city of Anaheim do if the Angels left town with a baseball park but know team. Lease it to Disney. Disney could build two parks on that piece of land.and just for fun lets throw in the Honda center where Disney could build a couple more hotels. what are your thoughts

Re: Would you trade the anaheim angels and ducks for two more disney parks?
I think that land becoming Disney's is a very real possiblity. Not for 2 parks, but for 1. The Pond will probably get parking garages and the guests will take future transit from there with the ARTIC passengers to the parks.Be Cool Stay in School!

Re: Would you trade the anaheim angels and ducks for two more disney parks?
No third or fourth theme parks.
1. A subway station.
2. The world's largest and most beautiful parking garage & an employee lot.
3. A peripheral greenbelt & a private, drought-tolerant Disney arboretum.
4. A beautiful, moderately priced Disney resort designed by Robert A. M. Stern's group. (For inspiration, see but don't copy Paris Disneyland's Hotel Cheyenne. And see the Mission Inn in Riverside, The University of San Diego, and USC's new film school building.)
5. A year-round, mostly indoor water park, possibly Marvel themed with some exclusive hours during less crowded times and even one day a week--Wednesday--exclusively for Disney hotel guests, Club 33 members, & Premium AP holders. Start charging 1K for Premium APs so they can subsidize new attractions and increase the bonuses for Thomas Staggs. That is, afterall, the ultimate purpose of
Eisner-Wells/Eisner/post-Eisner American capitalism.
6. Two monorail lines going into each of the parks.Last edited by jcruise86; 10-19-2012, 12:02 PM.

Re: Would you trade the anaheim angels and ducks for two more disney parks?
If its Resorts we're talking about creating in this proposed Angel stadium area, demolish the Grand California hotel that encroaches on DCA Real Estate and and utilize that space for expansion. (highly unrealistic but would widen the Grizzly theme, oh dang, Cloned Grizzly Gultch anyone) And rebuild a bigger "Grand California" hotel there.Last edited by Darth Goofy; 10-19-2012, 12:39 PM.

The Ramada Maingate has just announced it expanded its plans for and will be starting a big construction project. This indicates that that property has at least 25 years left if it's leased from Disney or somone else. The front of the property, the biggest on the Harbor side of the block, will get a flat front 4 story building. That is the property that is directly west of Disney's Pumba lot and lines about half the western edge of that parkiing lot.

Re: Would you trade the anaheim angels and ducks for two more disney parks?
Here's where the common sense side comes in:
Disneyland bought the Angels and Ducks over a decade ago because they wanted the Anaheim area to be a tourist destination area that wasn't just few day stayover for a theme park. Exactly why they built DCA too, so people will spend more of their money in Anaheim because of the multiude of options. I doubt the Disneyland resort is looking to limit their options in the OC by pushing away the sports franchises.
Makes little sense.

I hope they don't though. These properties--especially the Angles' stadium--are big, but they are far from being adjacent to the Disneyland Resort. I've heard that Angels home games (unlike Dodgers games with drunk, cursing fans and nightmarish parking) are pleasant family outings, so I hope they stay in Anaheim.Last edited by jcruise86; 10-19-2012, 05:07 PM.
