  • Star Tours 2 or Stitch?

I was at DL yesterday and I noticed that there is an awful lot of Stitches Great Escape stuff in the park (not just stitch stuff, but Great Escape stuff) So I started wondering where a theroretical Stitch attarcation could go....Im thinking Star Tours....ST is fun but I dont think I really care about a part 2 anymore, it will wear itself out too quickly.

So what does everyone think? would you prefer a new Star tours or StitcH....OR something else completely differnt in the Star Tours building (and NOT bring back Innerspace, sillys)

Might as well go with a stitch based ride just to keep some variety in the rides.

how about something that actually fits into the theme of tomorrow? I know we've disuccussed this before, but neither star tours or stitch have anything to do with the progress of society. I personally don't have any creative ideas, but then again I don't work for WDI. :monkey:

Even if they don't actually have something to do with "Tomorrow," Star Tours parallels one of the dreams of society: Interstellar travel.
I think that Star Tours ultimately fits in better with the theme of Tomorrowland, and would be thrilled to have another version of the ride to experience. Variety would certainly court me back to Star Tours!

There are four cabins, two should play the classic and two should play a new one.

I say a new Star Tours film. The 2 classic cabins and 2 new cabins is a good idea but the average park guest would get confused and be upset when they don't see the one they want. Its a simple thing, but you know how people get Disneyland Syndrome and all common sense is lost upon entering the park... 2 Star Tours films would probably proove to be too much with average guests... Not to mention CMs having to explain what's going on hundreds or thousands of times a day...

I'd love to see a new film in there... The old one is getting ..well, OLD and it needs to be freshened up.

youknow speaking of innerspace I can't help thinking that even if they hadn't axed it it would've just been overlayed into Buzz (after all the first Buzz ride IS just an overlay)

anywho I doubt taht Stitch would go into Star Tours, it'd most likly replace HISTA or Rocket Reds (Rocket Reds is the exact same building type that stitch is in at WDW so the engineering would be simple to reproduce since alot of the infulstructure could be put back the way it was before)

however Stitch wasn't as popular as they'd hoped in WDW so I doubt we'll be seeing clonse of it anytime soon

I voted for Star Tours 2.0 I am really opposed to more cloned attractions! The addition of Stitch (and removal of Star Tours) would mean that every single attraction in Tomorrowland would be a clone.

If you want stitch wait untill you see how bad it is/was in MK.. (they are retooling it slowly....)

                  It can get bad....
You should want an oriingla attraction instread.... like the original Alien encounter hehehe.... that would work...

Stitch was forced fit into an attraction.

Disney, or I should say Eisner couldn't get an agreement with
Lucas on updating Star Tours, because Eisner wasn't willing
to pay the price for the upgrades Lucas wanted for Star Tours.

So if we go with Lucas' version of an update, I say let's bring
                    Star Tours into this Millenium.

                      j;ljds NO

Everything I've heard about Stitch has made it sound horrible and if I'm not mistaken they're taking it out or something after only a few months open.

I vote for Star Tours 2.0 even though neither choice is really enticing. I agree with others that we need an original attraction. To re-do Star Tours would be great, but the ride does wear off quickly. Motion simulator attractions just aren't as fun after the first time.

Stitch is annoying and dumb. Who would be interested in this ride? Nobody.

Doing neither gets my vote. Even simply paying somebody to spend 2 or 3 hours cleaning up the original Star Tours footage in a video editor to smooth over the blips and color/brightness changes in the transitions would make a HUGE difference in the quality of the Star Tours experience. Star Tours 2 is a pretty unbearable thought. You know it would be fake piss poor shiny 3D with an animatronic Jar Jar, Watto, or pit droid as your pilot.

Stitch at WDW is HORRIBLE. I'd rather see an expanded Innoventions replace Star Tours than have Stitch be cloned in ANY park!!!! That is how bad this attraction is. Bad...bad....bad....BAD!

                                  it depends

I would like to see it cleaned up and kept for the most part

durring the holiday season though or like from lets say November-January (the winter months) you have flights to the rebel base on Hoth, of course once you arrive on hoth your attacked by droid probes and must now escape from the Emperial blockade around the planet. the robot could basicaly be the same and has been given a "second chance" of sorts

it'd be great for the overlays they already provide around the park and it's something that could happen with the touch of a button

I do enjoy the origional film and I think that Star Tours needs to stay in the time period of the origional three movies as opposed to the prequals (which would suck, honestly I can't think of ONE good reason for the tour vehical to end up in a pod race that wouldn't sound totaly idiotic)

having a random sequence of actualy reaching Endor or not Reaching Endor (aka origional film/new film) might also be a neat effect to add to the vehicals but that really wouldn't be neccisary, I'd recommend Hoth above all the others just because the Ice planet would fit in with the winter months so well (not neccesarily a holiday ride but it'd match the theme)

Star Tours 2 would be infinitely better than a Stitch ride.
