  • [Rumor] First Planned Attraction for Star Wars Land

Here is a proposed attraction for Disneyland's "Third Gate" park devoted to Star Wars. I uses a ride track similar to the one used at Universal's Harry Potter attraction but incorporates a unique gimbal-like ride vehicle.

    Fear of the unknown.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based onÖ if something is new, I reject it immediately because itís frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.
You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious.

Dr. Q usually finds the Disney patents when they are submitted so its most likely theirs. Looks very cool I hope they use it

Unfortunately, no! This came from the patent application from Disney.

The schematic for a ride system came from the patent application. Did it say on there that this was for a Star Wars third gate?

Not on the patent app -- Disney typically doesn't go into that level of detail in a patent filing. But check out this concept art and compare it to the original diagram!

Pretty cool. I being a HUGE Star Wars fan would love a Star Wars Third gate. I know people will disagree with me, but I digress.

Re: First Planned Attraction for Star Wars Land

The fact that someone thinks is in someway related to a newly created Star Wars ride is hilarious.

But I don't think this patent is even from Disney. If I recall correctly, this is actually a concept from Premiere/S&S

EDIT: Its definitely a S&S design. Proof. This rumor is completely 100% utterly wrong

Although I am a Star Wars fan I am totally opposed to ANY Third gate.

I'm not someone who likes change especially when it's something that has to do with one of my favourite places on earth.

Ride design looks neat, but I hope it doesn't go anywhere Disneyland.

In that case what source do you have that this would be for a third gate?

It's too bad you feel this way. DLR needs to grow and it will grow. If it stays a two gate resort, it will eventually either stagnate and fail or will be forced to eventually get rid of even more "classic" attractions in order to fight off stagnation and build new attractions where the old ones once were. How well would you handle THAT change I wonder?

I see no problem with a third gate at DLR and in fact I believe they need to have one (and perhaps a 4th gate eventually) to stay a top, nationally ranked theme park. Whether or not that third gate is exclusively themed to one franchise I am not sold on 100%, but I can still see it as a possibility.

I really don't understand this. Unless someone has an interest in the property where a third gate would be located, it really wouldn't affect them. If they didn't like the third gate, they don't have to go, but why begrudge the opportunity to those who would enjoy it?
