  • [Rumor] New Weekly TV Series based on the Big Thunder Mountain attraction?

Just heard this rumor - could it be true? Does this have anything to do with them removing the buildings from Rainbow ridge?

Why do Matterhorn, Jungle Cruise, and BTMRR (rides with 0 linear story) get movies/ TV shows?

i don't think this specifically is the reason why Rainbow Ridge is rumored to be removed, but if this is true, i hope the series is good and has basis in all the parks stories including Paris's Big Thunder, that way Phantom Manor may get a spotlight.

This has nothing to do with them removing buildings on Rainbow Ridge. It does have everything to do with them refurbing the ride though.

Thunder Mountain doesn't have a linear plot to the ride, but the ride has a history behind it. Why they down population has dwindled, why the earthquake happens, etc, etc. There is definitely a story here to tell and by doing a show and fleshing that story out, then can make the ride experience better. And timing this with the refurb allows them to incorporate ideas into the ride as well.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Well, Matterhorn wasn't the inspiration for the story, it was the other way around. But taking a concept, a place, that has story elements but not necessarily a linear story allows writers to have room to work, whereas a concept that already has a full storyline gives the writer less room to move around with the characters.

Sorry, I just read about the NEW Matterhorn project... my bad...

I don't think the removal of Rainbow Ridge has anything to do with the show, if anything I imagine Rainbow Ridge would be the setting for the show.

I generally don't consider attractions that become the basis of a movie or a tv show to be a franchise tie in. I think if the story is well played it will take off, if they make it a western and not contemporary it will be a winner in my book.

Wow - if this refurb. has anything to do with adding the TV plot into it, Disney is taking a huge risk, betting on the fact that the TV show will do well.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based onÖ if something is new, I reject it immediately because itís frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.
