Do you think the audio and music inside the park is too loud?

I have noticed this since my visit in 2006. The music for shows, parades, and rides just blast out of the sound systems. I understand the noise level regarding shows but I don't quite understand why the audio inside the rides needs to be so blasted loud. Last time I rode Indiana Jones I thought the sound of the whip-cracks made me deaf. The speakers are so close to you and are turned up so much. Even the Fantasyland rides are loud, imo.

I've been several times this year . . . haven't noticed loud music inside the rides, but the parades are awful!

During Mickey's Soundsational, (or the parade that starts with a castmember sweeping who is really a band member), it go so loud along the Small World corridor I had to put my hands over my ears and leave.

I don't understand why parades have to be so loud. It isn't even important to get all the words.

I think the parades and street shows are way too loud, especially over in DCA. Like that Newsboy show and those Phineas and Ferb/High School Musical type floats. OMG, turn it down already. And I don't like how they have a lot of the street shows wired into the main sound system of the land so that the whole area hears it and not just the people who are standing around to watch the show. Annoying.

I agree that the street shows inside DCA are loud. I could hear the Newsboy show all the way to Cars Land. I also think the Minnie Mouse show in front of Soarin' is really loud, too.

And the Soundsational parade, holy crap that is loud. I sat and watched on a bench right in front of the Main Street railroad station and by the time the parade audio got to us it was so loud I plugged my ears a couple times.

I agree that Soundsational is loud. Same goes for the cannon on the Columbia. That always scares the crap out of me.

It's loud to block out background noise. When at the Bellagio I notice the same thing during the fountain shows. For shows I try to not view near speakers.

The last time I was in Disneyland (over two years ago), I was struck by how loud the "background" music was at the end of Main Street and into the Hub. Way too loud. It was overpowering -- not in the "background" at all! I'm disturbed to hear about all the other loudness. And oh yes, I also felt that Indy was WAY too loud and also felt like I'd gone deaf temporarily! Sure hope the audio can be adjusted in the other dark rides.

It's definitely too loud. Some people might say that the moment you think noise is too loud, you're getting old, but I'm 19. Sudden loud noises aren't my problem though,It's when the noises are consistent when it gets painful. If it hurts my ears, it will most definitely cause long-term damage to young children.

I guess my thought is I'd rather it be too loud than too quiet... I've never thought that anything was truly "deafening" while at the park. The music for parades and such is supposed to drown out background noise, which is what I would prefer it do. It would be pretty irritating if the crowd noises made it difficult to hear the music. Maybe I've just been lucky enough to not be next to a speaker?

The parade music is too loud, be interesting to take a DB meter to it. I have serious concerns for the poor employees and their hearing. Being subjected to such loud noise repeditvely over time can be seriously harmful.

I was at the parks this weekend and I felt that the Main Street Christmas loop was way to low. I could barely hear the songs which is a stark contrast to the regular loop which overpowers the atmosphere on Main Street.

I thought the DCA background music was too loud (this was before its refurb). But I never had a problem with Disneyland music. My wife thinks its too loud though.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

I definitely think that the streetmosphere in DCA is waaayyyyyy too loud. They really gotta get that under control. I can't think of anything particular in Disneyland that compares to the volume level of DCA, besides maybe Soundsational, that has frustrated me or made me want to cover my ears in the way that DCA does. But the background music is definitely a little more than "background music" in some of the lands, it just has never really bugged me to the point that the streetmosphere in DCA does.

The Main Street and Frontierland background music have been in-your-face overly loud for a half decade or more -- posts about it on this forum go back years. Of all the many things that the TDA brain trust doesn't understand about the Disneyland experience, they're perhaps the most clueless about ambiance and quiet. If it's not demanding your attention like a TV commercial, they think there's something wrong with it. Background music must be loud and colors of buildings must be cartoon-bright, the better to sell, sell, sell.

I have never noticed this. I also have issues with the eustachian tubes in my ears, so I think sometimes my hearing isn't the best...

Maybe the parades could be a bit more quiet but other than that I don't notice it being too loud.

What I do loathe is people who talk on attractions! It's so annoying! On Tower of Terror, you sometimes can't even hear Rod Serling over the voices of a chatty group of people.

The loudness creates a vicious cycle as well.........loud music/noise makes people talk louder. I'm sure that you've all been in a room or place where the volume of voices suddenly increases......restaurants are notorious for that.

Yes, I think the background music is entirely too loud. And it's everywhere. I sometimes need to make a phone call and have great difficulty finding a corner that's quiet enough to hear anything. I don't like the overpowering music- let it be background. We shouldn't notice the music being front and center.

In my opinion, if you have to yell at the person sitting right next to you then the "background" music is a bit too loud. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they turn the volume up on the shows and the rides. It is to try and drown out talking and whatnot but there does come a point where they turn it up a little too loud.

One of the only rides where the sound system has never bothered me is Pirates of the Caribbean.
