  • Tomorrowland 5-year plan???

Someone mentioned on another thread a few days ago that there is a five year plan for TL. I havn't heard about this before. Can anyone please fill me in?? I know we have Buzz and Space Mtn. this year, new paint scheme this year and probably continuing for another year or two, subs in what? '07? '08? that is 2, maybe 3 years from my calculations. Unless we are counting the 2 1/2 years SM has been down now? But that was Pressler/Harris era, and I really doubt they were looking ahead five whole years. So what's the deal? Is there something I don't know?? PLEASE HELP!!!

    yo

it was me who mentioned it

but yeah if you go over to Mouseinfo.com under their latest Ask Marcie section there is a bit more news on that

but there is basicaly a five year plan in place for restoring tomorrowland to it's former glory

the new paint scheme is of course the start of that

from what Marcie has stated along with several other posts I've heard from other Disney insider sources there is a plan for an attraction to be placed up on the Peoplemover track and there are several concepts competing for the space were the Observatron is

all sources have been sketchy in saying what exactly these new attractions will be but there will be things done within the next five years (though you will probably not see much construction durring the 50th because management doesn't want any construction walls up durring the 50th)

there will be new attractions as well as several small additions is all I can gather

once the 50th completes this will be one of many exciting projects to keep an eye on (marcie has also stated that we'll be seeing some expansion in DTD)

Wow, thanks for all the great info, can't wait to see TL back to its glorious self. I was last at the park in October (2 days, before the swim with the stars event, which was the reason I went, but it got postponed to a Tuesday, instead of Sat/Sun I was bummed) Anyways... When I was there, most of the rides were still open before refurb time, buzz facade wasn't even up yet, and I couldn't get any info from any of the CMs i tried to talk to. I've been relying on all of your pics posted on this site to keep me updated. Thanks guys! and Thanks to you Jspider for the 5 year plan info.

        hey no problem

it seems to me that cast members probably won't know about this plan considering all the sources are being sketchy as though they arn't allowed to say yet

but I'm sure that as time goes on we'll all see and hear what the specifics are and I'll try to keep everyone I talk to up to date on what develops

I also cannot wait for things to be back to their previous immaculate standards.
But when we say glorious self, I don't mean "former self." The former Tomorrowland is out of date with the way things are now. Disney needs to innovate in Tomorrowland, while keeping that classic, optimistic view of the world to come.
How they should implement that? I don't really know at all, but I can't wait to see whatever they come up with!
