I would post the pic I have but the mice chat AP wont let me... Anyways.. I was told by a lady that was watching the tree that it fell just as the mark Twain was coming by the canoe dock, and it had to go in reverse to let people off.

we saw cms and divers cutting away the tree and using the tom Sawyer rafts to get them out of the river... We checked later at night it was gone and river was open

Scary ... this really should call to question the strength of the trees, and how many more years they can stay still they all start to fall into the river.

Welp. Looks like the great tree revolt of Disneyland has started. All the vintage and original trees have had enough and will now topple over one by one.

But in all seriousness, which one will fall over next? That big one next to Coke Corner worries me a bit, since it could either fall close to or on top of the Coke Corner or Jolly Holiday if it cracks in the right spot or the wind blows it in the right direction.

Uh oh, not good at all. Some of those trees are old. Might be time for replacing.

I'm really concerned for the ones on Main Street. They've been there since opening day and have grown REALLY big when compared to their younger selves of the 50's. If one of them goes down onto the street, into a building, or worse, the high possibility of falling onto a guess, there's going to be massive discussions and all that. Possibly some new regulations or things like that.

I like the idea of the old trees of Disneyland getting fed up with all of the bad choices and decisions being heaped upon Walt's Magic Kingdom, and starting to revolt.
If no one else is going to make a stand, the trees will!

Trees fall time to time , probley the rain soften the soil and washed a little away and that is all it takes. The rest of the trees are fine , replacing them is not relative in my opinion , if a tree falls it falls you can't live life in fear we risk our lives on the freeway everyday , I don't want to live in a safety bobble it takes away from the fun. These are my opinions
Im here for fun and info not be a bully! Carsland here I come:yea:

Bet it was eucalyptus. Those things have shallow roots.

No big deal, trees fall everyday. I wouldn't be too worried about lawyers. It's considered an act of God.

Pretty sure those trees were all replaced at one point due to them dwarfing the buildings on main st. I think in the 80s sometime?

This wasn't the first old tree to fall at Disneyland Park, and others have already been removed.

                                        Howdy Pards,

Trees and people grow old and die. I'm kinda sure it wasn't really a political statement. Nor should a tree or people be replaced by plastic, fiberglass, or cement... the sky is not falling, and we do not need to cut out every living tree in the park...

The truth is...Disneyland is growing old now. Celebrate those old trees, the way Walt did, long, long years ago. He believed that they would make the park grow more beautiful each and every year...and that now fallen 60 year old tree did just that. The mess was cleaned up very fast by the young...soon that old tree...and old people will fade into history and be forgotten. It's the nature of things I suppose...

I reckon I'm slightly older than that tree was...and I'm thankful that it made the place so beautiful all these years... The young must plant a new tree now, and, if they do, maybe the beauty Walt dreamed about once upon a time will continue...

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.
