      Re: D23 Expo 2013

I'll be there as a vendor again this year. 2011 was my first year and the crowds were kinda heavy. There were long lines for the presentations, lots of people coming through the booths. It should be about the same. I'd be interested to hear the projected amounts, too.

Do you mean in the parks or at the convention center?

In the parks it does add to crowds, it's a busy time but not unexpected for Summer.

At the convention centers, this is a big convention with lots of line and sold out, big, events. Not a casual wander in and around convention.

Don't worry. The timing of the event is really an extension of Summer. It occurs as Summer trails off, but helps keep the demand up a few more days. Then the next week demand is kept up by allowing APs back in after Summer Blockouts. Then the next week the attendance drop is noticeable as schools get back in session.

Unlike other events D23 Expo attendees likely go to the parks anyway. The events take some who would of been in the parks to the convention center, and others to the area for the convention who also go to the park. While many people end their Expo day at the parks, many get to bed so they are ready for the next day of Expo.

After crowding issues at the last convention, D23 is planning for the same size or bigger crowds and planning to alleviate some of the issues.
