  • [Question] Splash Mountain closed?

Checking the Disneyland calender and it shows Splash Mountain being closed from now until February 15th as well as being closed for a few weeks prior. Does anyone know the purpose for Splash Mountain being down for this time? I know it was down a few years ago for a major refurbishment but does anyone know what they're doing in particular during this refurb?

They generally take Splash offline once a year for a quick refresh/refurb - the same as all the other attractions. Splash and Grizzly River Run usually get their refurb in the dead of winter - it makes sense; it's when the rides have the least demand.

From what I hear that its a pump problem which it causes health issues. No only are they replacing the pumps throughout the ride they are doing heavy AAnamtionic rerbishment. If you went on the ride before it closed this season there where many AAnamtornics missing and many where just not even working. The do this to pirates lot aswell. Big problem is the pumps though because there are not filltering. Also they generaly take all the water rides down during the winter-spring break to work.

Glad there will be a squeaky clean Splash Mountain for me on my next visit! We are riding it on Saturday night in our formal attire. )
