                  Re: Aladdin show's Carpet

I like the show but I'm surprised that the flying carpet is coming back. I was expecting a new show instead of a longer run for Aladdin. if a new show was coming anytime soon, the cost of the safety repairs wouldn't make sense.

I will be gong on March 12th to DCA and I plan to see the Aladdin show. I so hope the carpet is back by then. If this is true, then very exciting news. I have seen it with and without the carpet and that musical number just isn't the same without said carpet.

That is great news! It ade the 'Whole New World' scene the best of the show
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

                        Re: Aladdin show's Carpet

About 6 months ago I was talking with one of the long-time ushers for the show and I asked him the question about the carpet. He told me that "Yes, the flying carpet is coming back but we don't know when". When I pressed further, he said "Nobody really gives us that information as to when a return date would be, but I have been told that it will definitely be coming back". I've been keeping my mouth shut and my fingers crossed. Now it looks llike it might be soon. The loss of the Flying Carpet scene left a huge void in the show. If this pans out, then this is great news.

The new OHSA required guard rails around the carpet shouldn't be too obtrusive.

I'm surprised as well at this news. I guess they figured out a way to make it 100% safe again! That video where they're upside down in the carpet still scares me.

Think about how many times it ran properly, flawlessly, and only flipped once. The odds are good that it's safe.
