  • [Fun] Soarin' in U.S. Customs Video

I just returned for a trip to Tokyo (where I had the chance to finally visit Tokyo DisneySea!!!) and on my way through U.S. Customs as I returned I noticed that the "Welcome" video they played used the soundtrack from EPCOT's "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" nighttime spectacular. Doing some research both elsewhere online and on this site I learned that Disney had in fact produced the video for the Federal Government as a donation. While this is an of itself was very cool to me, I also noticed that the video uses a clip from "Soarin' Over California". At about the 1:03 mark in the video you can see a partial clip of the hot air balloon scene from the attraction! I thought that this was very neat and a great way to welcome people to our country! Next time you pass through our U.S. Customs stations be sure to stop and enjoy!

    Disneyland Wooooh!

Oh how neat! Never would have seen this as I haven't had to go through customs... or really thought about Disney doing a video for it. Nice post!

No military representation. I guess that'd be too intimidating/scary?

It looks like however they filmed most of Soarin' is how they made a large part of this video as well.

Now all off us Disney fans are going to have to visit the "U.S. Customs Ride."

Actually that is kinda cool seeing Soarin' and Iluminations showing up in such a random place.

Love that Disney is making a mark on the world still. Walt would be proud.

Not too crazy about the music. Sounds a bit more Irish to me than it does American. I'm thinking something like Appalachian Spring would have been more appropriate - perhaps a bit cliche, but at least it is American.
