  • [Fun] Baby announcement photo ideas at DLR

***If you are my friend on Facebook, please do not post anything about this on there. thanks!***

    Hello, all!

My husband and I are going on a trip next Friday to the parks, and are planning to take some fun photos to announce my pregnancy. We have some fun shirts that say "This girl is going to be a mommy" and "This guy is going to be a daddy", so it will be obvious what we're announcing, but I was wondering if anyone else has done something similar? Any particular backgrounds or character interactions that you think would be fun?

I really wish I could bring a "Baby on Board" sign to hold up in a ride photo, but unfortunately all the rides with cameras are not pregnant-people-friendly. (I'm going to miss them!)

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Adding photos of our shirts so you get the idea.

    omg, congrats!!! how exciting!
you could always put the 'baby on board' sign on the plane window (if you plan on flying) or title the album as 'my first trip to disneyland' (since it's clearly not, your family and friends would be intruiged to click on the photo) i'm sure there are tons of cute ideas on pintrest, too...
    congrats again!

I love the idea of titling the album like that on Facebook. My friends will definitely be confused and look into it.

We are driving, but I just had the thought of maybe sticking the baby on board thing on one of the main street vehicles and taking a picture. )

And thank you!! We're still in the "danger zone", but should hopefully hear a heartbeat on the 30th, so photos will stay under wraps until we feel a little more secure.

I don't have any ideas on how to tell people creatively. My wife and I just said, "We're having a baby."
But, I just want to tell you CONGRATULATIONS! You are about to get on a ride far more wild than Space Mountain, California Screamin', and Tower of Terror combined.
Bringing a baby will definately alter your experience at Disney.
Just remember, you can tell you're doing a good job as a parent if your kids "hate" you at least a couple times a week.
        Again, many congratulations.

How about a picture of you holding up some baby things in one of the stores or maybe holding Baby Mickey or Baby Simba.

          Congratulations!

Congratulations, Kelly!! Baby will be one lucky kid to have 2 Disney nuts as parents!!!

Maybe you could hold up the 'Baby on Board' sign on one of the FL rides while a CM or another guest snaps a pic. I think it would look adorable on the Storyland Canal Boats. Or even on the DL Railroad. There should be photo ops galore while traveling around the park. I'm sure anyone would be happy to take the pic for you.

How about a pic of the two of you in your adorable t shirts by Snow White's well captioned "Our wish is coming true. We have a baby due" maybe with the due date?

Re: Baby announcement photo ideas at DLR

Although I was never at DL during any of my pregnancy's, I asked my midwife once about the dangers of riding on rides in the first trimester. She told me that it would be 100% ok to ride the rides as that little bean is still being protected behind my pelvic bone. Once you start to "pop out" a bit then it becomes unsafe due to possibly getting hit in the belly. Just a thought

This is such a cute idea! All I can think of is gender reveal ideas, there are so many prince/princess options, so when it comes time for that...

Hahaha thank you and great advice!! If you go by the number of "I hate yous", my parents were at their peak in my teen years. I'm sure they'll be laughing it up when their wish of me having a child like myself comes true!

I thought about bringing a onesie that I can later bring the baby in to take pictures, or having the characters sign a white onesie. Or maybe ears... I like the toy idea, too, since they won't outgrow it and can hold it for later pictures!
