  • [Question] If Walt were around after the New Tomorrowland, would House ofthe Future have stayed?

Just curious since it closed so abruptly a little after the remodeled land opened

Doubt it. It may have lasted a little longer than it did, but it would have been replaced with something better.

If it were still there it'd probably be a DVC unit

Once Monsanto pulled its sponsorship in favor of Adventure Through Inner Space, probably not.

Who can say for sure, but Walt was always interested in innovating, so maybe if he had lived longer it might have stayed around and been updated more often. I think that today's audience is not as interested in seeing fantastical visions of the future the way that people from the 1960's were because they realized that when the future comes, the visions from 30 or 40 years ago are never even remotely close to accurate, so my personal guess is that it would still have gone away whenever they realized that it no longer represented a realistic vision of the future. I think Walt would have liked the idea of Tomorrowland Paris, where it represents the future that never was and always will be, and that we'd see more of that. If anything, it might have been turned into something like a house of the future on Mars.

I think the windows on the outside would have to be more modernized and the inside totally scrapped but other than that.. They could have constantly updated it. It looks amazing compared to most of the houses in modern america.

I think it'd still exist, though it would have been remodeled/upgraded occasionally as Walt and his gang thought up new possibilities.

This. Monsanto fully paid for both attractions so that they could be free to Disneyland guests.
