Either Harold got them like said above and released them or perhaps they will only be out for summer time.

I remember seeing them on my last Disneyland summer trip. They are very memorable and do create long lasting memories. Can't wait to see them again in person this summer.

Over at Mint's blog, there are some pictures of the Matterhorn climbers.
Mint stated in a tweet that they are going to be here until August 18

As a climber myself...i remember seeing them years ago and think "how cool"

...then my next thought was "wow the Matterhorn is actually REALLY small when you see it in relation to an actual person on it and not just the forced perspective!"

i liked seeing the climbers as well, and always wondered who they were, if it was like a program or something to train for, etc.

That's what I've always thought, and I am surprised that Disney ever even started with the Matterhorn climbers for that reason. But I'm sure it's a lot of fun for the few people who ever actually get to climb it!

Wouldn't surprise me if there are a few "high rollers" who would spend big bucks to climb the Matterhorn. Tandem skydiving, which seems much more dangerous, can be accomplished in a half day for a fairly low fee, for example.
