  • [Question] Quick Disneyland Fastpass Question

    Hi, friends!

I have a quick question. I'm taking my mother in law to Disneyland -- it will be her first time -- and due to some back issues, she won't be riding things like the roller coasters. I heard recently that Disney was cracking down on Fastpass return times because of the My Experience app they're rolling out at WDW. Are they cracking down on Fastpass return times at Disneyland, too? Last time I went (three years ago) you could get a Fastpass for say, the Finding Nemo Subs first thing in the morning, and then save it and use it later in the day, regardless of the stated return time. Can you still do that, or have they become more strict about it?

    Thanks!

    Re: Quick Disneyland Fastpass Question

When I was in Disneyland in March I asked a few cast members if they were really cracking down on Fastpass times and they were so we kept to our return times to make sure we didn't miss out.

Yes, they are cracking down on it. If you miss your return time, they just take the Fast Pass tickets. This is especially true of Radiator Springs Racers at DCA as well as Indiana Jones Adventure. We missed Autopia once by 3 minutes and were denied boarding (in May).

You will not be allowed to use your FP if it is beyond the hour window on the pass.

And just fyi, the Nemo subs doesn't have a FP. Here is the list of Disneyland and DCA attractions with the FP:

        Indiana Jones Adventure
        Space Mountain
        Star Tours
        Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
        Splash Mountain
        Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

        Tower of Terror
        Radiator Springs Racers
        California Screamin'
        Soarin' Over California
        Goofy's Sky School
        Grizzly River Run
Merrily on our way to nowhere at all.

          Good to know, thanks everyone!

(last time I went, because we were celebrating our 2nd anniversary, and my wife had never been to any of the parks, the good people at City Hall gave us four complimentary fastpasses to use on anything we wanted...so we used two of them on Nemo and gave the other two away to nice strangers as we didn't need them that night)

Nope, but its line does not get as long as the one in Disney World. Try to get on at park opening for a minimal wait.

Planning this trip is going to be a challenge...have never been with a somewhat frail senior before. Most of the Fastpass rides are attractions she can't go on. Definitely have to put my thinking touk on for this one.

TSMM will be a walk on if you go right at DCA opening. Of course, don't forget to pick-up your RSR fast passes first.

If you can, download the MouseWait app on your phone. It will give you the wait times for all of the rides and you can check it at any point of the day.

I also second the motion of going straight to TSMM first thing. That gets a 40-50min wait pretty quick. The only ride in Cars Land that you really have to worry about waiting a long time for is RSR. Junkyard Jamboree and Flying Tires aren't too painful.
