  • [Question] Why is Disneyland leaving the lights on during fireworks?

I was watching different videos of "Magical" and I saw changes in the lighting during the show from 2011 to 2013. For example on 2011 they dimmed the lights at Town Square and the Train Station but then on 2012 they just left those lights fully on. Now I noticed that this year they are leaving all the lights on except the ones that decorate the Main Street buildings and the Light Magic illumination towers and now they just only dimm the Emporium sign. Does anyone here besides me, think that leaving many lights on is degrading the fireworks viewing experience? I miss the old tradition of turning ALL the lights off that they had with "Believe" and "Imagine" until 2004.

Same with me I see nothiong wrong with a little light on. The lights don't really have any efact [ms] on the fireworks from Main Street. I've been watching the fireworks lately by the flag poll and doesn't reck it for me. Now if the light where on by the castle or The Plavan or Fanstay Faire then yeah cause there close to where the fireworks are.

Just a guess, but maybe Disney is trying to prevent people from tripping on stuff like the curb, strollers, or other people while trying to leave the parks during the fireworks.

I think the could just dimm the lights. I still think that having them fully on make the fireworks appear less bright. Moreover, near Small World Mall it disturbs the viewing

I don't mind the lights on during the fireworks. When they are off, chaos ensues because Disneyland is becoming a foot traffic nightmare in the evenings. I see nothing wrong with leaving the lights on and not interrupting the flow of traffic.
