  • [Question] Do you call the central area the Hub or the Plaza?

While listening to the Peoplemover soundtrack, there is this line "across the way is the Plaza." I noticed that many people refer to the central location as "The Hub." Is it really "The Hub?" There used to be a Carnation Plaza Gardens, and there is a Plaza Inn. Walt may have described the Plaza as a hub but did he insist on using that mechanical name for this area? It might be a partial hub as there is direct access to four of the seven areas. I kind of went along with everyone calling this area the Hub. Now I'm wondering if I am just using hardcore guest slang.

That's my take. What do you refer to this area as?

The Plaza, probably because we are older and remember the Plaza Gardens.

It depends on who I'm talking to. Freshmen get the Plaza from me, upperclassmen the Hub.

I call it both, however it is officially called the Central Plaza.

I've always just called it "the end of Main St.". I think of it as the hub, though.

I hardly ever reference it. But I guess if I did I would call it the Hub.

Each area of the park has their own specific name. The area where the Partners Statue is called The Hub and the area at the end of the Main Street where it splits is the Central Plaza.

I always thought that "the hub" was a stupid name for something, but I ended up calling it that anyway because everyone else who works there calls it that.

I say "The Hub". And I refer to my husband as "The Hubs". No relation.

The name of the area is the Central Plaza. What the area is, is the hub. Because Disneyland was originally designed with a spoked-wheel design. The Central Plaza being the hub of the wheel and then all the lands radiating out from the center.

Well the man himself referred to it as both the Plaza or the Hub.
