The cars land back side wrap mentioned in this weeks dateline disneyland got me thinking why they are actually finishing the backside of cars land, and using the final 5 acres of DCA for expansion, either adding a e-ticket or new land or expanding a current land , because if TDA is finally wrapping that backside of cars land is because they are most likely thinking about expansion, and don't want that current view to be seen ,when guests are in that back side of the park to look unthemed , kind of interesting, what do you think? share your thoughts!

Please don't take offense, but your post could use more periods. It was a little hard to read.

As far as my thoughts go, I think you're taking this too seriously. They're just covering up the backside.

they probably just want to minimize the amount of dirt and trash that is collecting underneath the massive skeleton. strong winds could have also been damaging the internal skeleton of the mesh and rockwork material.

Disney's clueless suits will soon forget that the tarps were installed and let to deteriorate.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

Covering a back side to a ride after only a year of its opening is a big deal, back in the Eisner era it would stayed like that for 10 years, but this is a big deal to do it so quick, , they are already thinking ahead of expanding in the next couple of years to those 5 acres!

The backside, even with the scrim, is definitely not show worthy, it still looks pretty terrible to be seen from inside the park.

What if share holders suggested to TDA if you want the funds to expand DCA cover the back side of Cars Land!

Please just stop making things up and stating them as fact.

No, not really. And Eisner's been gone for years, his way of doing things hasn't mattered since then. It's been different for quite some time now.

I really do believe you're reading way too much into things.

Looking at it on Google Maps, it looks like you can see the structure from Katella. Maybe they are going back to paying some attention to the details and just prettying up the back to keep the magic going?

You can't even see that from inside the park. Everything visible from outside the parks is fine in my books, it's all "off-stage." The scrims were probably installed for wind protection as opposed to aesthetics.

It is about aesthetics. Since the Carsland backdrop can be seen by other properties beyond Disneyland, finishing the back is to improve the look. I am certain that it will also be painted/decorated in a way to also 'advertise' carsland as people drive by and see something interesting other than the superstructure of the backdrop.

It could also be required per the city to finish the backside. Imagine a neighbor building a fence or other structure along your property line or in your view that was really ugly. DL may have been asked to do this, or they may just be trying to be a good neighbor. Could be for reasons all of the above.

                              Just my opinion.
