  • [Question] Alweg Monorail -- Are Models Available?

I have various models of modes of transportation in my office -- San Francisco Cable Cars, Light Rail (Sacramento), Bullet Train (Japan) -- and the like.

I am having the hardest time finding a good model of the Alweg-Disney Monorail that is NOT a toy! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

      Disneyland Mark I collectible

Disneyland 50th Master Replicas Disneyland Monorail Limited Edition 1 of Kind | eBay

I have one of the above (not the Olszewski below) MK I collectables and love it. It is most definitely not a toy. It is 22" long.

Disney Olszewski Disneyland 1959 Monorail Mark I Annual Passholder Figurine | eBay

If you want to go smaller and less expensive.

You can look on ebay or you can call Disney Merchandise Guest Services at 1-800-362-4533 and see if they have it in stock. It should be somewhere near $100 plus tax/shipping.

The Monorail Society website is a good place to check on this stuff. They even have pages on how to convert toys into display models!

I love that the headlights, taillights, and beacon work...

I have the Mark I and love it. I wish they would create the others.

While it may be considered a toy, it was actually very well built operating model.
