  • [Question] Matterhorn

I just noticed on Mouse Connect that the Matterhorn is closed? Do you know if it is closed or down temporarily?

    Re: Matterhorn

I know there was some planned downtime this month, not sure of the dates...

Edit: the dates are later this month, according to this thread

      Re: Matterhorn

The Matterhorn will be down later this month for a scheduled refurbishment. As of today the Matterhorn is open according to the Disneyland website.

        Thank the maker!

            Re: Matterhorn

I've gone on it once since the remodel, and to be honest, I don't like it. It's a lot slower (definitely not a positive), and less rough (which could be a positive) and I just can't get into it again. I loved it back with the old track and cars... not so much the way you sit in the cars, but there was something about the way it rolled through the track.

Am I one of the few that doesn't care for the Matterhorn anymore?

I think most people are unhappy with the new Matterhorn, but their complaint is that with the new seat configuration it is too rough. I went with some people last April and we all agreed that the Matterhorn beat us up.

I'm kinda mixed on the new Matterhorn (would this be considered 3.0?), I do like that the 6-seater bobsleds guarantee all seats get filled; it was pretty annoying to see a group of people who could easily do the lap-sitting spread across the whole bobsled, one per seat.

The new bobsleds aren't too tight for me and I'm nearly 6 feet tall, though they are kinda hard and uncomfortable. I almost feel sore getting off the attraction now.

Ah I see. Maybe it was the way my sleds were loaded... it seemed smoother, but a LOT slower this time around. Either way, I feel like the execs can't do anything because they already committed to this change and people still fall in line for the attraction!

I personally still do care and always will when it comes to The Matterhorn just since the refurb/bobsled change it has been a little less. I think its due to the uncomfortable seating and not wanting anyone else walking away from the ride feeling sore or bruised

I've found tha a drink before the ride makes it not so rough! I was able to ride it three times in a row and was wondering if I had been wrong before...but the next trek rode it proved that wrong. I've heard from a cast member it's about 20/80 for those that like the new sleds to those that don't (her rebuttal to my "everyone hates the new sleds")
