Bob Iger said that they would be making some exciting announcements regarding Disneyland in the next couple months, that seems to kinda rule out anything in DCA for now. Muppets has another movie coming out, and I like the Muppets, so I hope they don't take it out . . . and I kinda doubt that they will.
While a Monsters Inc. door coaster might sound cool, it would be hard to tell the story of Monsters Inc with a door coaster. Would part of the ride be through Monstropolis? Already got that with the current very underperforming Monsters Inc. ride in DCA. I think some people saw the Monsters Inc. door sequence in the film, wanted just that action put into a ride.
Interestingly, Disney killed off the Toontown virtual world, (it was on CNN, personally don't know much about it), . . . never a super big fan of Toontown at DL, or Roger Rabbit . . . maybe something would happen in this area . . .
I read the article 5 times and it never occurred to me that he was being park specific when he said Disneyland. I think he was referring to DLR and called it Disneyland, the same way he would say we have some announcements for Disney World. Also, I think Monsters Inc. only somewhat underperformed because it is in the single worst area of the entire resort. However, it has been noticeably busier since the DCA makeover. I so hope Monstropolis happens and at the level of theming rumored to be taking over that miserable area.
