  • [Question] Early Disneyland Closure Oct 9

So, my family is going to the Halloween Party on Oct 8 (Tuesday). We're staying from Oct 8th-11th, and I just checked the Disneyland calendar, which says that Disneyland closes at 6 pm on the 9th (Wednesday). It's not another Halloween Party. Anyone know why they'd close early on Wednesday the 9th?

I believe there is a wedding going on there that night so the park is being rented out.

Thanks. That's interesting. I didn't know people really rented out the whole park for a wedding. Pretty impressive.

Disneyland is hosting Little Monsters that night. It is the Trick or Treat event for the children of the DLR Cast.

I know people are the party planning committee

It's been in the news that Holly Madison is getting married at Disneyland. I have heard that the day of the wedding things are going to start shutting down at 6pm. I just put them both together. I don't remember what the date was for the wedding.

I've heard that for the reception there will be a performance of Fantasmic! and that I believe it was somewhere around $10,000.

I would have thought it would be more than $10,000.
Merrily on our way to nowhere at all.

                  Depends on the services involved.

This is VERY hazily remembered memory, but I recall around Liz Talor's party news stories quoting park sources at Disneyland rental starting at $25k a land and going up. This got you basic catering for your event, all or partial rides in the area depending on area etc. - extra of course cost extra. Presumably doing without rides, catering yourself etc. would also lower it. Less labor on Disney's part for one.

I'm going off decade-plus memory here, but I'm relatively sure that was the range it was in then.

I believe that was just the price for Fantasmic! to run, not 100% sure I can ask again. A lot of numbers were thrown at me on prices. I just remember my jaw dropping on the price to do fireworks for a private event.

Plus you would think Disney would want to charge for whatever revenue they lose by closing the park early.
