your right, that's why you don't recreate the real LA you create a magical and enticing LA

a modified version of RnRC that is a hybrid coaster darkride in the truest since of the word, it'd be cool to be zooming up city streats looping over buildings and past wacked out sites, that's what Superstar limo should've been, no narraration just a wacked out version of California that you zip by like crazy and do all sorts of amazing stunts

my LA expansion idea also has an increadibles idea that ties in with the technical showcasings they already regulary do in California, but most showcasings arn't hosted by Syndrome! with his crazy robots and everything going out of control, but luckily our friends the increadibles are here to save us

you don't have to toss the theme in peoples faces just use it loosly, imagination is key if it's going to be California make it DISNEY'S California

not DISNEY'S Characters and most certainly not disney's sad recreation of things that you can already see and are more impressive in their natural surroundings

retheming would require a minimal money expenditure--it's just an issue of Disney having to say they picked a crappy theme and change it, which I don't see happening. They could keep HPB as it is (it's okay to keep one distinctly CA land), make Condor Flats look more like Ohio (which also has a history in aviation), say Bountiful Valley Farm is in Kansas, Grizzly Peak is in the Rockies, change the Pacific Wharf to look like New York City's bay, change the Bay Area to look like a Chicago skyline and change the film in Golden Dreams to something closer to the American Adventure, and leave Paradise Pier, but pretend it's in like...New Jersey. I'm pretty sure you could make those minor changes for well under $100,000,000, but I don't see Disney doing it...nor should they really have to. I think California is a diverse enough state to allow a theme park based on it.

I actualy agree a bit, the idea of recreating California locations is cheesy and dumb and the name reinforces that a bit

but I dissagree with removing the theme or renaming the park as that would convilute things

the solution is to take more creative outlooks on the areas of the park and not overly literilzie the theme

the best thing to do is balance the offerings and make it so that it's a way of seeing California that can't be seen in the actual state

fortionaly for the most part they avoided recreating entire areas or whatnot

Use it and get the last of the original parking lot out of the way.

21 gun tribute, and Taps playing the entire time of construction.

California is a very large state, as you know, so it is not practical for tourists to visit the entire state--most just come to Southern California for a vacation. I find that DCA is much more geared toward tourists than locals, probably by design. That would be fine if it had the ability to attract a substantial number of tourists, but it doesn't yet.

Timon lot is an obvious location for expansion.

    Bathroom Row
    Hollywood and Dine
    The X Games Show Building
    Millionaire

Not to mention needing to update existing attractions. Off the top of my head these come to mind:

    Paradise Pier
    Route 66
    Redwood Creek

    My 2 cents =)

there's nothing behind the Pacific Warf except the Timon lot unless you want to gut what's already there and totaly rebuild

the Xgames didn't have a show building they had an arena that was built on the Timon lot but has since been reclaimed... by the Timon Lot

Bathroom Row is increadibly shallow there isn't room for showbuildings or anything of depth behind the san fran buildings

bountiful vally farm... http://www.micechat.com/showthread.php?t=1041 (I think we've discussed this before )

Millionare will get something from the entertainment department eventualy I'm told (it's currently run by Entertainment at least)

and Hollywood And Dine is expansion space I suppose though I've heard it's kitchen is used for resort candy making sometimes (easily moved leaving the land to be developed into soemthing else)

they could put a showbuilding behind Screamin http://www.micechat.com/showthread.php?t=773

they could also stand to redevelope alot of the Route 66 area (alot of people would enjoy an enclosed mollaholand madness or whatever) they could also stand to kill either Burger Invasion or Pizza Oh Mow Mow Mow or whatever and put a ride around that area

I Agree, Fix The Current Situation And Then Expand. It Has Been Said That Timone Would Eventullly Be Used, But For What I'm Not Sure.

It really is not that large of a parking lot. and it is in a curious location. It could almost be another "land" within DCA.

That has ALWAYS been the plan.

I was under the impression way back when what is there was still being built, that it was already planned to use that parking lot eventually.

imagineering is planning to use the lot for expansion that's why it's there

and it's not as small as you think, it could very easily hold three lands the size of the hollywood backlot area

I think if you read through most of the post regarding "how to fix DCA" you will find nearly EVERYONE advocates using this lot. There is a search function, take some time and search DCA and see the fun stuff people have preposed- peace out hommie g's
