  • News LTM: Take Home Agentes of Shield Poster from Innoventions

    From the Disney Parks Blog:

Innoventions at Disneyland park has been getting even more super lately – with the addition of Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries and the upcoming opportunity to meet the Mighty Avenger, Thor. And starting today, as part of “Limited Time Magic,” you can take home a special poster celebrating the release of “Iron Man 3″ on Blu-ray as well as ABC’s new TV series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” while supplies last.
If you haven’t checked out the latest Iron Man technology firsthand at Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries, not to worry – the interactive exhibit has been extended! This is your chance to virtually “suit up” in Iron Man’s Mark 42, and test it out!
And enjoy all the action at home with “Iron Man 3″ on Blu-ray September 24, and watch the premiere of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” September 24, at 8/7c on ABC.

If this isn't a blatant advertisement disguised as a special guest experience, I don’t know what is.

I've been an avid part of fairly commercial Disneyland promotions before (still have most of my hard-fought set of collector's cards from the "40 for 40" passes/trading cards they did on the leadup for Indy's opening.

          This one...

          *sigh*

I think it's billing it as LTM that pushes it over the edge for me. Really guys? REALLY?

One would hope they'd not use "limited time" as a term for a soon-to-be-ongoing series. Or are they commenting on "get yer merch now before cancellation"?

There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

Hey, laugh if you want, but I work in the travel industry, and we really do get people coming into the office asking us for our posters. I've had so many people ask me if I can set one aside for them when we're done with it that I've had to start telling people no when they ask for them now. So this promotion probably does appeal to some people.

Maybe, but that's a little different than offering a "Limited Time Magic" event in Disneyland for posters.
