  • [Question] Meet and Greet: Human Ariel or Mermaid Ariel ?

When you go to the Disneyland Resort, which Ariel would you prefer to visit?

Currently, Ariel is making appearances as Human Ariel, and Disneyland has also had Mermaid Ariel available as a meet and greet. If you had the choice to visit with either version, which would you choose?

As much as I think it would be cool to see Mermaid Ariel, I voted for human. i think that's safer for the actress. If she's in the mermaid costume she can't move away from anyone if she needs to. A friend of mine who worked with Disney told me that one of the reasons they stopped sending out Mermaid Ariel was because people were trying to pull her shells off.
Merida looks like this. Not a Barbie doll!

        Both.. which isn't an option.
Peter Pan: "You know, your hair is on fire."
Me: "Yes. It happened after a recent trip to Neverland."
Peter Pan: "Well, you can dunk your head in the pond behind us, if you want."

ORWEN: I like her best as a mermaid because it's her signature look. Plus when she's a human they put her in a dress that she didn't wear in the movie which makes her less recognizable.

ORDDU: I agree with my sister.

ORGOCH: Go fish all the way with me, too!

I tend to think of her as a mermaid, but at the end of the movie she became human, so it does make sense for her to be in her human form. Then again, Rapunzel has her long hair as a character, so...

I would say both even tho you didn't put that up. I have never hear anything about people trying to pull her bar down. Only thing I have hear and was when POD was out they had to stip her out of her mermaid form cause her folat cought a little fire on it. I also remember one time me and my friend where in line to see her and we where getting are camera's together when we hear her scream. We had look up and some guy had give her a kiss which is a big no no. Other then that never hear of people trying to take her bar off.

I figure at the end of the flick she was a human, so let her keep her legs. Neither my daughters (nor me) have ever had any difficulty accepting her as Ariel in human form.

As for Repunzel and the long hair now, I figured since her tears now can heal, she cried on her hair, and it grew back. That's how I explained it to my daughter.

She still appears in Orlando and Tokyo as a Mermaid.

But to be honest I think it is a lot easier to have her with legs just for the fact that she doesn't need her own dedicated spot to meet in fins, plus with legs she can meet anywhere such as the front gates.

and Orlando ... so for the millionth time, the "perv" explanation (also popular with Jack Sparrow) is complete rubbish

Well, I heard it straight from a Disney performer, and it's not rubbish, as far as Jack (and Tarzan) are concerned...

Definitely mermaid. That's how I think of her when I think of Ariel. She really loses her signature look when she's in human form and sometimes I can't differentiate her from other princesses.

I voted Human, but I would prefer to meet her as she appeared at the end of the book, as sea foam.

I like mermaid form, but I remember a few years ago, I got really excited just seeing her walk by hahaha I think it's better for the actress to be in human form, though...sitting in a tail for a while can make your legs go numb lol
