  • [Question] Theme of third gate with Star Wars, Marvel

All this talk of a third gate leaves one question unanswered...

What theme would possibly work with a combination of Marvel, Star Wars, and possibly Monsters Inc or other Pixar franchises? Am I the only one bothered by the fact that everyone seems to be thinking about what franchises could be used BEFORE even thinking about what the theme of the third gate should be? Perhaps a sci-fi concept? Cause that's the only thing I can come up with.

But seriously, if we're really serious about a third gate what would it be that would get those franchises in there? Another studios? An Islands of Adventure type? Disney's Property Adventure?

From what I've heard, it's going to be themed to heroes and adventure (which can work). Now if only we could sneak a villain themed land in there somewhere.
Met Anna and Elsa over 1100 times and not afraid to admit it. Just let it go

You bring up an excellent point. I don't think EVERYONE on here knows the definition of a THEME PARK or else we wouldn't hear anyone saying Monstropolis fits in DCA.

Maybe this thread can serve as a quick Theme Park 101 refresher for some folks.

          I think that's about right.

Sci-Fi Movie Land. That's what it would be.

Heroes and adventure? I scoff out loud...

Theme is what you make it - Disneyland has no single, unifying theme and instead tacks a number of disparate and unrelated themes together in one park, yet noone has a trouble referring to Disneyland as a "Theme Park". There's little limit to what can be made part of any given park so long as the company's willing to adapt the "theme" concept.

As an example, if Disney were to announce an official change to make DCA a collection of Disney themed lands, the current "real" themeing would suddenly be what's out of place while the Carsland, Bugsland and rumored Monstropolis etc. would fit right in. Not saying they should, more to point out that the "theme" overall in "theme parks" can be remarkably malleable.
