  • [Question] What will I be missing?

I just read todays Dateline Disneyland and found out that the Christmas season officially starts 11/15/2013. This kinda stinks cause my family had planned a holiday trip nov 9 - nov 14. we had thought that the decorations would all be up and we'd be able to enjoy xmas @ DLR a little earlier. Today I see the xmas season offically starts the day after we leave. Will we be missing anything? Is there sometimes a soft snow opening after fireworks maybe the thursday before officaly becoming xmas time? I'm really bummed that we estimated the season too early. Will we really be missing a lot?

It is my belief that christmas time begins on the 12th but World of Color Winter Dreams begins on the 15th, Believe... in Holiday Magic and Christmas Fantasy Parade are on the schedule to begin on the 9th and all the Decorations by the 12th, along with Its a Small World Holiday.

Yeah, I think Dateline Disneyland is wrong. I was under the impression that all of the holiday offerings (sans WoC Winter Dreams) started on Nov. 12. However, looking at the daily schedule on DL's website, Christmas actually starts on the 8th, and even Small World Holiday should be open by then. The only thing you should be missing is Winter Dreams, and even that I don't think starts until December.

ETA: Sorry, just found out that Winter Dreams does indeed start on Nov. 15th. But you should be good to go on everything else.

If the Christmas season isn't advertised to start until Nov. 15, one thing you may miss will be holiday crowds! Here's hoping.

Luigi's Flying Tires already has it's Christmas lights up, and the castle has snow on it. Believe me, you won't be missing the decorations! It looks as if the Christmas Day parade will be filmed on November 9 and 10, so be prepared for that! And the Christmas fireworks will start that weekend as well.

You'll probably have a great time regardless.
