  • [Rumor] New Ride Vehicle Design -- Can Disney Find a Suitable Attraction?

Suspended coaster designs have been around for some time, but this ride vehicle design is truly unique. Suspended below a track, the Guest Platform is connected to an Overhead Platform by four cables. The Overhead Platform can function as an inverted Indiana Jones Ride Vehicle -- the Guest Platform can be raised, lowered, or tilted at various angles during the transit through the attraction.

Although the seating arrangement is not present on this graphic, the possibilities of such a ride system are exciting. I am thinking about a completely redesigned Peter Pan ride.

What do you think could make the most of this ride concept at the Disneyland Resort?

My first thoughts were the Monsters Coaster, but it could make a good Aladdin ride too

I do seem to remember a snack shop in Magic Kingdom in Florida called Gurgi's Munchchies and Crunchies. Also, in Tokyo Disneyland, didn't they have a Horned King featured in the Castle Mystery Tour? So the flick hasn't been COMPLETELY ignored in the parks.

As for the vehicle, I'd be happy to see this as a vehicle for touring Tomorrowland, like a new version of People Mover. But I know I'm just dreaming.

I'm no engineer, but the way that vehicle hugs the track above it looks like it doesn't handle inclines very well.

ORDDU: Yes sbk1234, duckling, the Magic Kingdom DID have a restaurant called Gurgi's Munchies & Crunchies back in the late 80's and early 90's. Then it was changed to a new theme. But for a time it had a beautiful painting on the back wall which depicted Taran, Eilonwy, Gurgi, Doli and Fleudder Flam out for a picnic in a lovely meadow. We still have pictures of it.

ORWEN: And the Castle Mystery Tour in Tokyo did close down a few years ago. So now every single park is Black Cauldronless.

ORGOCH: Got a hanky ta blow yer fool noses with?

Besides the Door Coaster and Aladdin that have been suggested, I could see this becoming an Up attraction as well.
