  • [Question] Mr.Toad's wild ride ending..

Hi, I posted this because I have a question.
At the end of Mr.Toad's Wild Ride, he seems to go to the.. Uh.. "Bad place".

I decided to watch the movie and I read the book but they don't even talk about Toad dying in a car crash..
I just wondered what made them choose that for the ending.

    Thanks!

There's a Walmart in Mr. Toads Wild Ride?

I often wonder the same thing.

Gotta watch your cross streets when you enter the hood of Compton.

Thanks. I thought the hell scene was kinda cool but it's sometimes a little awkward for a Disney attraction.

Yeah, I never understood it for the life of me. Wasn't particularly satisfied with responses I got on that thread either, lol. I read on line that you're meant to believe that Toad actually escapes from hell...but the fact that I never got that, or anyone else I've ever talked to or ridden it with speaks to how well that plays, hahaha.

The point of the ride isn't to recreate the movie. You are literally being taken on a "wild ride" created within the world of Mr. Toad and it's characters.

That's also why this dark ride (and Peter Pan, which likewise doesn't attempt to recreate the movie) works so much better than other dark rides.

If this is the case, then he never goes to hell. Instead I guess he goes to purgatory?

Isn't that one of the levels of hell?

Depends on your personal (or institutional) dogma, really.

Perfectly put. When I think about the other rides that I consider to be bad I think I know why now... Rides like Snow White and Alice in Wonderland seem disjointed at spots because you can't easily recreate the full movie experience that they seem to be trying for... Maybe they would all be better if they just tried to go after a specific moment or tangent of a movie instead of doing a 90 minute movie in 90 seconds.

Never knew that about Toad's ride and I've ridden it hundreds of times over 50 years.

I should pay more attention to the back story.

Please do not kill me with your post headline again! If Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was actually "ending" I not sure what would happen!

They should have a sign in front: "Go to Hell!"
