[Chat] No 60th Anniversary? ONLY thing to do......

CANCEL your APs once and for all. If they deny us New Fantasyland 3.0, new entertainement, etc because of Orlando's IgerCare then we MUST. Is riding the Mansion and Pirates and the Matterhor every other week really justifiable if Iger is going to punish DL because of WDW?? I think not people. We made DCA suffer, we can make DL suffer too. Just cancel your APs if we get royally screwed and get nothing.......

Don't believe what the MiceAge article says until we have official announcements from Disney. Period.

What kind words would use to describe hearsay and rumors from a blog?

The question is based on the assumption that the inside sources developed over decades by Al Lutz are only capable of giving the MiceAge Update crew "hearsay and rumors."

By definition it's hearsay and none of it would fly in a court of law.

However rumors have always helped sell newspapers, and now blogs, so I can't say I blame this site for publishing them.

This is the "I'm an AP and demand more" mentality I've seen over the past years. Much like a little kid wanting more presents or candy. Regardless of the locals, Disneyland is a tourist destination and people are still going to come and spend money. Plus like others have said, nothing has been officially announced. We don't know for sure if these rumors were even true to begin with.

What's wrong with riding Mansion and Pirates and Matterhorn (still not sure if the type was intentional) every week? If people have fun doing just those three rides over and over, shouldn't they keep their AP until one of those three are closed? Then maybe they can re-evaluate the value of their AP. Until then, nothing really changes.

Personally, I don't go for the rides. Sure, it's nice for new stuff to be built, but the main reason I go is because Disneyland feels like home to me.

I'd rather see them restore every single thing in the park to mint condition, as a matter of pride in the park, for the 60th anniversary, instead of throwing out new attractions, shows or lands.

Good gosh, nothing's even been announced for the 60th, let alone plans to cut the 60th. These are rumors. People are blowing this out of proportion. It's still over two years away. Chill out.

First, I don't really think 60 is a big deal, in terms of anniversaries. Birthday of a person? Sure. But I'd expect 75 to be a much bigger deal. Otherwise every ten years it's making some big hullaballoo, which, I mean, if playing up the number sells more stuff, sure, they'll do it. For me, 50's a big thing. 75's a big thing. 60 is...if they feel like making it a big deal to milk some more cash out of people.

Whether what they end up doing is actually worth the hype they put into it is another matter entirely, but I highly doubt they'll do absolutely nothing. At the very least there will be shirts. There are new shirts/mugs/whatever EVERY year that say the year. It'd take zero extra effort for them to put the year+60th anniversary or 60 years of Disneyland or whatever on the shirts. We're talking about a giant corporation with a massive marketing machine. They know how to sell merch.

Isn't that what DLR did for the 55th??? They had the chance to bring back MSEP As WOC was opening that summer and on top of that, DL only had the street party. POD was long gone and if I remember correctly, Sounsational was supposed to start that summer. That didn't happen.
What I still don't get after all these years is why is DL so shy with getting back into the night parade business? Even If the article that came out yesterday is false or didn't come out at all, I'm still suspicious about DL getting a night parade for the 60th

Boy, that AP entitlement. I like to think I'm keeping a level head when it comes to the park and my AP.

Disney is not obligated to provide new anything to its guests, even as a matter of getting business. Its only obligations are to make profits to pay their stockholders.
