  • [Other] college bowl season

I love going to Disneyland around the bowl season and taking in all the fans of the college teams. It's a break from the UCLA and USC fans year round. There will be loads of fans from all over the country this year. I'll be wearing my UCLA gear and hope to chat with a few fans from Florida State, Michigan State, Stanford and Auburn this year.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

The Rose Bowl Game teams almost always do a photo op. at Disneyland. Not sure about the NCG teams.

I think they're treated with the same courtesy.
When I worked at Disneyland, me and a friend were walking to the lockers when we came across the University of Michigan Marching Band. They were stepping out onto Main Street and were high stepping it. So me and my friend made like the band and did the same. Probably was bad show, but it was fun.

The NCG teams will likely go to Disneyland after New Year's Day.
FSU website has a group ticket offer valid from 1/3 to 1/14.
Auburn's site has no mention of Disneyland, and only three-day packages.
(It also has a game-day charter, which has no overnight accommodations. Sold out.)

The BCS game just doesn't seem as much fun as the regular bowl games. They don't do official Disneyland days, there is no "Beef Bowl", no team luncheon and none of the events that happen at the Rose Bowl & Holiday Bowl.

I do think the BCS game will give a big boost to the So Cal and especially Newport Beach economy though.
