  • [Question] Aladdin's Oasis

Does this area get used at all?

From what I read the show finished in like 2008?

If it truly has been unused for that long surely they can find a better use for the space.

I've walked by it a hundred times, and ignored it... until last summer.

Curiosity got the best of me, so I went in to see what it was. Turns-out it was nothing more than bathrooms.

It's a meet and greet space/extra seating for Bengal Barbacue, has been for a while. There are usually people in there, so I wouldn't call it "unused", but you are correct that there is no show that area.

Sometimes there's a meet and greet but otherwise it's a nice quiet place to relax for a while.

Aladdin and Jasmine and sometimes Genie will do meet and greet there and also it is for the restroom as well.

The space could definitely be better utilized, especially since the facade looks so out of place in Adventureland.

just had a thought that might ease some of the circulation problem in that area. what's involved would be to move and expand the Bengal Barbecue into that area, remove the stage area and open it back up to the Jungle Cruise river views, remove the entry structure so it is move connected to the rest of Adventureland.

the old Bengal Barbecue site would mostly be removed so there would be more space in front of the Indiana Jones entrance. maybe just leave enough space for an outdoor vending site.

They should bring back the Tahitian Terrace.

I kinda like it being somewhat abandoned. It's fun to steal away back there and take in the forgotten history and ambiance. Most people don't even know its back there so it's always pretty quiet.

The vast majority of us believe this. Disney cannot listen.

Yes, it truly is a shame. When I think of the Tahitian Terrace, I think of one of those special things that Disneyland offered that you just couldn't get anywhere else. That's not to say nothing like that exists anymore in the park, but a lot of the really neat offerings that transported you to another time and place (and didn't put you in a film franchise) are dwindling away or already gone. It's insane to me that they haven't done something to that area there since Aladdin's short run in the 90's.

Loved the Tahitian Terrace, a great Polynesian dinner show, food was so so, but great experience.

If I remember right, the reason Aladdin's Oasis failed was because they tried the dinner show thing but, unlike the Tahitian Terrace, they chose to bring in people for dinner and a show at set times, people were so busy watching the show they didn't eat their dinner/lunch whatever and when the show was over they wouldn't leave until they were done eating and that messed up the schedule for the next seating and show.

It's mostly just an area to relax and a meet-and-greet location for the Aladdin characters. I would like to see them put an extra little show or something entertaining there at some point.

More than anything else, why Disney refuses to bring back the Tahitian Terrace is just beyond me. They are turning away money. The only thing I can think of is that maybe insurance for some of the more dangerous parts like firewalking is just too much.
