  • [Chat] Do anybody else miss the glamorous gold on the castle in Fantasyland?

I personally think the castle is more beautiful when it's was dressed in its 50th attire. To me it's looks more like a real glamorous castle, with it's details that make it shine, I know it's supposed to be celebration of 50 golden years but I felt like it's needs to get dressed up again for the 60th anniversary if there not going to put any new attractions in. PS I don't want to put an ugly WDW like birthday cake castle on it too.

Honestly, I would prefer them to revert the color scheme back to the way it was pre-2005.

ORDDU: Sorry to disagree but I prefer the castle to be the way it looks WITHOUT any extra gaudy decorations. The crowns for the 50th just didn't do it for me. I was ready to have them taken off five minutes after seeing them.
The castle is perfect in it's natural state and you can't improve on perfection.

Agreed its perfect right now. The colors still pop but there aren't too many frillies. I did like the hanging tapestry sort of things though.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.

Maybe they will use some crystals for the Diamond Anniversary. Perhaps something like the Christmas Lights for night but with reflective material that will glitter all day.

I agree with every part of this.

I will be different here, then: I loved the crowns. Loved them! I don't think it's a better or worse thing for me; I liked the castle with the gold and I like it without. I enjoyed seeing them sparkling there, though.

I love how the title refers to it as the castle in Fantasyland. "Ohhhh, THAT castle!"

                      Just teasing.

Anyway, I didn't mind all the 50th adornments for the year or so that they were on there, but it's definitely not something I'd want to be permanent. I know a lot of people here don't like the bright pink and blue colors they painted it, but I do. One thing I don't like that they added and never took down is that swirly gold railing. But I suppose they just keep it up there now for worker safety so it's likely not going anywhere anytime soon.

For the 60th, I'll be disappointed if they don't somehow incorporate diamonds into the decorative scheme.

I like it the way it is now. I thought it looked faded to crap before 2005.
