  • [Chat] Disneyland Google Earth - Ridiculously out of date

While reading the "Autopia, does it still do it for ya?" thread, I got to thinking about just how big the autopia footprint is in Tomorrowland. Well I pulled up Google Earth to check it out and after looking around the parks for a minute, realized that the Google Earth of the Disneyland Resort is ridiculously out of date. After one look at DCA, it's fairly obvious just how out of date it is.

It is frustrating! Periodically I check to see if they have updated it. Obviously, not yet. Disneyland should be a priority on updates of Google Earth!
Seriously, is there any way to find out when they will update it?

I have noticed the same thing. However, if you zoom in far enough, the picture changes and you can all of a sudden see DCA not completely under construction.

Ok, did a little digging and according to Google, the images are updated every 1 to 3 years. So based on the pictures, it should update sometime in the near future? Maybe?

Only the 45 degree angle is out of date. Turn that off and see Carsland and everything else in their newly-won glory!

Just imagine how much of a pain that is. Someone has to use a plane and take all those pictures.

Check out mapquest, it's even older. It's like time travel.

On the top toolbar there is a clock if you press it there will show a timeline, where you can update the time to where Carsland is updated!!

                  Check it out.

There are no satellite photos that are ridiculously out of date.

Disney, Universal, Las Vegas and China are very dynamic places when it comes to construction.

The rest of the world looks nearly perfect anytime in those photos.

I think the pictures are taken via satellite.
