  • [Question] How many attractions are open at Dland, the MK, & Tokyo Disney Sea?

Trivia question (though these things are hardly trivial for many of us Micechatters!):
How many attractions do 1. Disneyland (not including DCA),
    2. WDW’s Magic Kingdom
and 3. Tokyo Disney Sea have open at this time?
(Also interested in the Hong Kong & Paris #s too.)

Yes, we know: Tokyo Disney Sea isn't about rides, it's all about the incredible theming that immerses guests into beautiful, mysterious fantasy worlds where…blah, blah, blah.

A quick look at Wikipedia showed the following.
    1. 56
    2. 35 and
    3. 30--though Wikipedia counted Turtle Talk with Crush as an attraction. The Tiki Room is an attraction, but it's also a show. It's complicated & it's Walt's fault.

What surprises me is that the Magic Kingdom is HUGE yet it only tops Tokyo Sea by a little bit (ride count wise) and is not even close to Disneyland which is much smaller and compact.

And DLR which is tiny is nearly even with WDW which is huge.

And I'm surprised that Universal's just announced Beijing park is supposed to be only 55 acres. Remember when EPCOT opened so big? And, I guess, Disneyland Paris too.

It is amazing how many attractions fit into the original Disneyland park in Anaheim, though Tomorrowland could use a few more--my only quibble with the excellent Disneyland Resort in 2014.

HKDL also started at 55 acres, but grew by about 15 as they added attractions outside the berm.

Disneyland started in a similar manner. NOS, ToonTown, Space Mountain and some outside the berm attractions bring it up to 85.

The greatest difference in all parks from DL is they allocate more space for crowds. DL is packed tightly and is super crowded even with it's many rides. Every park since was made to handle crowds by leaving more walking space. Bigger stores and dining too.

Also California Adventure was also only 55 acres to begin with as well. In general though I thought Universal Studios at Hollywood was a pretty small park to begin with and most of that land is taken up by the tram tour and the sound stages. I don't know if that's the case for Disney Hollywood Studios but I'd imagine that you could fit a number of these parks inside the boundaries of Animal Kingdom.

                DCA is only 55 acres?

I just Googled it and saw one state 55 acres, another state that it was 72, and one stated that the Carsland addition was 15 acres--which just about fits the 55 + 15, plus the entrance area inside of DCA was expanded out, giving the park a little more room. If there's at least 40 acres for expansion, I guess 55 acres could be an OK start as long as those 55 acres are attractive and filled with popular attractions.

Has the Tokyo Disneyland resort opened any new RIDES (vs. attractions that are shows with live actors or parades) in the last 10 years besides Toy Story Midway Mania?

Maybe Tokyo Disneyland's tiny indoor spinner rides should count as .5 each.
