  • [Chat] small world celebration today, anyone else?

    Howdy,

We came down for our last visit before our passes expire. We are sitting next to small world waiting for the celebration sing along to start. Small world has a 45 minute right now. Wow that is long! Anyone else here today?
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”

I can't be there in person, but I'm there in spirit. Have fun and post pictures.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it down for the celebration today, but I will be able to visit small world tomorrow and over the weekend. Wow, 45 minutes, seems like I'll have to plan to be in line for while instead of the normal 5 to 10 minutes.

I was hoping someone would've asked Mister Sherman about his opinion on the holiday version of the small world song.

I was there...it was a 45-50 minute wait most of the day! Also, just before we exited the show building we stopped! I think they were having issues unloading a wheelchair or something but we were stuck for a good 15-20 minutes. The ended up shutting the ride down (no current) and later restarted it. Thankfully they muted the music for a while but still...I got a little more small world than I intended, but happy 50th!

Ok, for those who went on Small World, was it just me or did it seem really scarce? It just felt so empty inside, but I can't tell if it was missing characters and/or set pieces or if I'm just thinking of Christmas and this is usually how it is...

I agree! I thought it was just me. It seemed like there were only like half the characters and that the sets were a few feet further back than they were before. Very strange.

Some pieces, and dolls are in New York for a worlds fair exhibit, Good Morning America said it. It was dark I think that they didn't turn the lights back up from when they were filming "Tomorrowland".

If the ride stopped around 3:10p, then it might've been due to an automatic shutdown the software ordered. My friends and I were waiting at the handicapped entrance around that time when I noticed the ride wasn't moving anymore. About five minutes later I saw CMs escorting guests off the boats at the loading area and a CM near us finally told us that apparently something happened on the ride that alerted the software to automatically shut the ride down. Fortunately we were handed passes to return later to ride it again when it was fixed.

Perhaps because it's actually in the middle of an extensive refurbishment. Or, at least, it's been closed and isn't supposed to reopen until the end of May. They just opened it for the anniversary? That would seem to be horrendous planning.
