  • [Question] The line at the Mint Julep Bar

Did they start putting real booze in the mint juleps or something? Maybe I'm oblivious, but I don't remember the line being 15-20 people deep in years past. How long has it been like this?

I've experienced both short and long wait times there. Sometimes I've had to wait around 5-10 minutes for my beignets, other times they were ready right as I ordered.

OMG that line is tortuous!! The window is like...RIGHT THERE...I can reach in there and pour the drink myself. But it takes FOREVER for even one person to get served for some reason. Just stand and wait and wait and wait.

I think they handle each order separately and if someone orders beignets and they take a while to finish cooking it holds the whole line up.

I waited in this line once, and that was enough. I have found that many of the quick service eateries aren't really that quick at all. Sometimes it takes a LOT of patience.

They need to put a drive-up style ordering station intercom down the side of the building a bit where you place your order, then walk down a few steps to the pick-up & pay window.

As someone said above, sometimes the line at the MLB is long; sometimes it's very quick. I've been through it in just a few minutes, and I've also waited as long as ten. It's never consistently long like, say, the Dole Whip line, so you can catch it when it's a short wait sometimes if you are lucky.

(and no, they didn't add any new special things to the Mint Juleps! )

The best beignets can be found at Jazz Kitchen Express in DTD. They're not Mickey shaped, but they taste much better, and the line moves quite a bit faster. They are hot and fresh and yummy!

I have rarely seen the line long. I do know that there was a couple times that there was no line and we had to wait about 10 minutes just to get our beignets and other times when it was super fast. I think the last time I saw a long line was around the holidays and in the afternoon. We usually go in the evenings to get what we want or early and have no problems.

It's been busy and it's been light. It really does depend on that day's overall crowd.

Big crowd, long line. Light day, short line. It's really that simple.

I believe you can also get them at the French Market.

Thanks for the tip! I've always thought the beignets at the Mint Julep Bar are more like donuts.

is there an alternative place that sells the drinks, for those of us who just like the Mint Juleps and don't bother with the beignets?
