  • [Rumor] Maleficent Meet And Greet Ticket

We just arrived at DL for Rock Your Disneyside Event and we joined a group of friends who were freaking out as they are big fans of Maleficent. Apparantly cast members are randomly handing out tickets to meet and greet with the new movie face character Maleficent at a special test location. Anyone know anything about this? If we find out more info will update.

She is indeed meeting & greeting tonight! Unfortunately that's all I know.

Someone posted her pic on facebook with the new Maleficent, said she was one of the 500 people who got to do the M&G, and got a free ticket to see the film next week, too.

They tweeted for the first 500 to check in at blue sky cellar would get a ticket to meet her between 8p-2a and it surprisingly didn't fill up until over an hour. Any pics from the meet? I'm interested if she will be in a new look

My only concern for this new movie is that it would change her in-park appearance... As in, I'm particularly concerned her Fantasmic appearance might change in lieu of the new movie despite the clips and the dragon likeness being the animated version.

ORWEN: Well, the Mad Hatter's in park appearance didn't change after the live action Alice in Wonderland movie came out--although there were rumors of him being changed to look more like Johnny Depp. But it never happened so I think Maleficent will stay the same as always.

She appeared as she appears in the new movie. And to go along with the Witches of Morva's point, Cruella Deville appeared as the live action version of herself and the animated film version at one time.

That's the WDW version. They had appearances by both the classic and new ones. Here's the one that appeared at DCA: Instagram

                  She looks GOOD!

Maybe they could do a mash-up of the classic and the live-action Maleficent so that she appeals to fans of both?

The WDW version looks older and plumper and less convincing than the spot-on and far more convincing Disneyland version. But that's not unusual for Face Characters between the coasts.

Also, the WDW Maleficent appeared indoors under white lights in front of a cheap 2-D vinyl backdrop with wrinkles and folds still in it. Stay classy Orlando!

The Disneyland version appeared outdoors under custom themed lighting right in front of the dressed up marquee for the superior Sneak Peek film attraction. Anaheim for the win! Again.

I don't agree.. I think the maturity and cheek bones of the WDW character is actually truer to AJ's character and the DCA version looks like a little kid dressed up.

And for commenting on the backdrop.. vs outside. Did you see anything beyond the photo? Check out the reveal in the CASTLE setting.. not outside a theater in DCA

OK, I'll admit, that looked fantastic...until she stepped in front of the crummy backdrop.

                            Totally.

Could someone call Costuming and see if they can send over a steamer to get the creases out of the vinyl banner? And more fake moss to cover the LED lights, please! What? The Guests are already here and the park is open? Nevermind, just run with it, they're just stupid tourists what will they know?!
