When the subs were brand new that serpent was such a let down. I was expecting something a little scary and instead we got the "Spawn of Goofy" underwater.
I think they should re-do the serpent... with an EISNER HEAD!!! Muahahahahaha! Maybe they could enlist Orville's help to merge the images of the old serpent with Eisner.
Now THAT's scary!

There may be no serpant at all, with the Nemo overlay and all.
Actually, there could be one of the things (sea serpent/barracuda thingy) that ate nemo's mama and all of his brothers and sisters by the dropoff when nemo was a wee lil' egg.

Nah, no matter what they do, be it Nemo or the old subs back ... they could always just RE DO the serpant! They just have the old one and know there are people in the world who might want him in their home ... just not for $1,000!
If I had the money I would buy him. But thing is, with Disney auctions they have these crazy inflated shipping prices. I ordered a pin from them for my sister once (were talking a small little pin about an inch by an inch across) they charged $8.00 shipping, and that wasnt any special shipping just normal everyday shipping. The shipping was almost as much as the pin itself. I think I would have nightmares even thinking about how much they would charge to ship something like this.
Still some of this old stuff people must want badly, I consistantly am seeing the old skyways cars go for over $10,000 (with a few exceptions) which I find kinda odd. I loved skyway, but that much plus shipping for just the car? If I would be paying that much for a ride car it better be something more unique like the caterpiller cars in Alice.
Edited to add: oops didnt see that you had to arrange pick up for this one, but I am betting they still charge a "dock" fee as most warehouse places do, which can be just as bad as shipping.
