  • Disney@California?

This is what Al Lutz says is at the top of the hip list on the subject of changing DCA's name, would you like this as a possible namechange? To me, the name doesn't bring anymore energy then the one it has right now and the @ just makes it worse.

I don't think it is a bad idea persay, but it would change the theme to suggest a park that is more technologically forward... the park is many things BUT is NOT technologically forward.

Did anyone run these names by Lasseter?

^Agreed - it does nothing for remembering the name or making it simple.

what about - "Disney's Adventure" Park? Simple

seriously, there should never be an @ in any disney park name
unless its to shorten it up on flyers
but disney@california, isnt that disneyland in the 1st place
i think they should go with
                        Disney Studios Anaheim

                            Re: Disney@California?

I have to agree. Disney@California is terrible! What is in a name? EVERYTHING! Walt Disney knew that a name can bring so much to a park or attraction. The wonderful title of "Fantasia" really brings magic to the movie. Other great names like Carousel of Progress and Peoplemover. Remember that they changed the name of the Peoplemover to the Disney Transit Authority in Orlando. What a bad name! It sounds so dry and institutional. I think it was Disney who termed "imagineer." What a great name! Instead of employees Walt insisted on "Cast Members." This was way ahead of the trend today to rename positions to make they sound more important. I can go on.

If they change the name of Disney California Adventure, then it better be a BETTER name. It should not be a name that people roll their eyes with.

I really like "Disney Studios Anaheim." That is a great idea from Disneyfanatic. The name will actually depend on whether they will keep the California theme. "Disney Studios California" might also work.

I personally will suggest "Zone Disney" if they decide to drop the California theme, or de-emphasize it.

I think that's the name of a bathhouse in West Hollywood. Oh what wonderful naughty jokes we could make in ZD. lol
