News Official Disneyland refurbishment dates - Updated as needed

I've decided to start this thread to keep folks up to date on the info that Disney publishes. All these dates come direct from Disney and are not speculation unless stated. Of course, all dates are subject to change. I find the weekly updates don't always seem to have accurate info, and I want people to always have accurate up to date information. I'll add and edit as new info becomes available.

As of March 19, 2023 this is the current schedule.



Disneyland -

Adventureland Treehouse Disneyland Monorail Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Matterhorn Bobsleds Dumbo the Flying Elephant The French Market & Mint Julip Bar

Opens in 2023 March 20 - 23 April 3 - 13 April 17 - Unknown reopening Closed April 10 (1 day only) Closed to be rethemed

Disney California Adventure -

Silly Symphony Swings Soarin' Around the World Soarin' Over California

February 13 - Unknown reopening Returning April 26 Running through April 25

So, since that specifically says, "Captain EO," and not, "Magic Eye Theatre," is the captain returning? Also, I'm surprised they're not waiting one more day to close the castle. I guess it will be tarped on the MLK holiday.

FWIW, people are reporting that the Redwood Creek area is already closed, but I can't say that first hand.

It's on Disney's travel agent portal which is password protected. Signing up requires a travel agent iata number.

ALL of Critter Country down until April 2?? Dang!! That will be unfortunate for the Spring Break crowd.

I'm assuming 'Steam Trains' is referring to the Disneyland Railroad? And what/where is Professor Barnaby Owl's Studio?

Professor Barnaby's is the spot where you buy your Splash Mountain ride photos.

Yes it is the Disneyland Railroad, which will be "under refurbishment" to allow for the painting Small World's facade while the latter is down for it's seasonal refurbishment/overlay removal,

O.K has anybody else noticed that in the new commercial that Harold (The Abominable Snowman) sings "I won't be alone", but according to this schedule, he pretty much will be.

I definitely plan to keep updating it, so if it goes sticky I'll be sure to keep it formatted as the mods prefer. I think I would keep the original post updated, and I could keep 1 prior update below the current list for a reference of how it changed since the current listing.

I second this. Updating the original post and showing an 'updated on' date would be much more 'user friendly'.

Main post updated. It's Tough to be a Bug was added to the Calendar. I also noticed that Captain EO is listed on the Disneyland website's calendar as closed all through February. The travel website still lists the 29th as the opening, so it's 50/50 on what will actually happen.
