I noticed something about POTC the last time I was in the park... And it never really occured to me... They use three differant sents of Jolly Rodgers in the ride which indicate three differant pirates...
Now for those of you who need a little history... Pirates used the Jolly Rodger when they where willing to give quarter to those they met... So it was their normal standard... (it was not their battle standard which was a red flag...)
Each pirate captain created their own Jolly Rodger standard...
The Scull and Crossed Sabers belonged to a pirate called "Capt. Calico Jack Rackham"
The solo Scull and Crossed Bones belonged to a pirate named "Capt. Emmanuel Wynne" This was also used as an eliment of "Capt. Jean-David Nau" who used three in succession
The Scull sitting on Crossed Bones belonged to a pirate named "Capt. Edward England" (However this was also used as an eliment on the standard for "Capt. Christopher Moody" but incorporated other elements...) This theme is used on hats primarly on the ride and not on a standard...
My question is, which pirate is the ride based on? And is each unique and separate...
And more over is "Capt. Jack Sparrow" a fictional version of "Calico Jack?"
