  • Disney wasted over a million $$

Appropriatley named Fantasy Waters Freak, I have found that Disney wasted over a million dollars for the closure of Fantasy Waters. I saw photos of a hole being dug where the now plants are where the fountains once were and still are, they were digging a hole and came across pipes will still all the nozzles and lighting attached. They didn't even bother taking out the equipment for the show, they just threw dirt on top and planted trees there, knowing Disney, they should have auction off the old show or given it back to Waltzing Waters. The Fantasy Waters show cost over a million bucks for just the fountains only, not including the LED panels and lighting effects. That just seems like a big waste for disney to just throw dirt all over their 1 million dollar show. the fountains in the lower pool that are there now are a custom made fountain display that disney created from scavanged parts. :thumbdown

Was this the fountain at the Hotel??? If it is, I'm really pissed.

I'm not sure whats so shocking. It would probablt cost more to remove everything and didn't they also bury alot of the animals that were in natures wonderland also??

I have sorely missed Fantasywaters it was also one of those themed shows that made the DLH so inviting to stay at, it was a wonderful way to conclude the evening to a perfect day.

              fantasy waters = free entertainment

free entertainment + current Disney = no money

              no money = bye bye

              sad but true

Not trying to defend Disney, but how long had that show been around? I really can't remember, but if it was since the 70's, those pipes may have been in pretty bad shape (metal, not pvc?) and it may have been more cost effective to bury it. The water show wasn't where the pool is now, was it? It seems to me the waters disappeared when the "new" pool went in, just before DTD showed up.

                    fantasywatersfreak,

I'm with you. I miss the Fantasy Waters show, and I miss the big red Disneyland Hotel sign.
