  • Exporting "Cinemagique" from Walt Disney Studios Paris to D.C.A.

I've never experienced this attraction before, but I have heard good things about it.

Does anyone have any opinions about D.C.A. receiving this attraction, and, for those who have seen it, would it fit in the Hollywood section of D.C.A.?

Apparently, the attraction is a mixed-media presentation that involves film and in-theatre effects.

The presentation features Martin Short and spans 100 years of cinematic history.

Cinemagique takes place on a giant screen, and includes in-theatre effects (as you said, PragmaticIdealist). Think IMAX. Guests travel from one famous movie scene to another, while comments from celebrity actors are interspliced into the film. A narrator serves to make a cohesive story out of the attraction.

I'd like to say that this attraction would make a nice addition to Disney Animation. Only, it envoles live action movies as well as animated ones. My next thought is for it to replace Who Wants To Be A Millionair - Play It! But, rumore has it that some sort of interactive stunt show will go there.

It could possibly coexist with the stage profuctions in the Hyperion Theater, playing whenever the theatre is dark during any given day. Or. they could expnd Hollywood so that it would fit. Personally, I belive that I would like the attraction.

Actually, no, I don't think there are very many similarities.

"Cinemagique" has the same director as: "The Brave Little Toaster"; "Cranium Command" (EPCOT); "Back to Neverland" (D.C.A. and Disney MGM Studios); and, "Mickey & Michael" (Disney MGM Studios).

The show is evidently funny, clever, and creative, as well as full of heart.

You make the show sound quite captivating and exciting. I'm becoming more intrigued by the minute.

I really enjoyed this attraction at Disney Studios Paris. I spent only half a day there since there wasn't much to capture my attention (spent the majority of my three days at DLP), but this was one of the things I told everybody about when I got home. I thought it was great and would love to see it at DCA. I could see it fitting - themewise - into the Hollywood Pictures Backlot section.

Yes, Pragmatic, this would be a great fit.

That said, where did this rumor come from about an interactive stunt show at the WWTBAMPI! bldg?

Software-based attractions like "Captain EO" and "CineMagique" are the only attractions that I do not mind Disney duplicating around the world.

Some of the theatres Disney uses have the potential to be made more versatile, and, since CineMagique is mostly a film, it might be appropriate for the Hyperion Theatre at those times of the day when no other show is playing there.
