  • Need some advice for a new AP holder

My wife and I are taking our twins to DL on Feb 1st, and we're going to get annual passes while we are there.

We'd like to get in the park right when they open, so what's the best advice?

Would it be best to simply buy full price tickets, enter the park, and then upgrade them to APs later in the day (assuming Disney lets you do that)?

Or is there a better course of action?

Also, assuning there's no wait at the AP processing center, how long does it take to do 4 people nowadays?

Advice point #1.... don't assume this. Every time I've been to the park, there has been a massive line at the AP center. But don't fear, it moves pretty quickly.

Advice point #2.... I'd just buy the AP's at your local Disney store, then you can skip the lines at the ticket booths.

You can buy APs online through www.disneyland.com, at your local Disney Store, or through your friendly South Coast Plaza Disney Desk (where you also get our exclusive pin set for a $100 purchase!).

Yep, pre-purchase your tickets and you can bypass the booths and walk right in the park.

Do you mean March 1st, or are you planning ahead for next year?

You can prepurchase the passes, however, you still have to wait in the line to get them processed. If you meant March 1st instead of Feb 1st, that's a weekday, so luckily the lines shouldn't be too long. But yes, it might be quicker to bypass the ticket booths and purchase the APs some other place (if all else fails, you can buy them at World of Disney right outside the park).
