  • Dancing at Carnation Plaza?

I love the swing dancing that happens at Carnation Plaza on weekend nights - Just wondering if anyone has done it there?

I love to ballroom dance, but Carnation dancing and my schedule never seem to match up... When it does, I come with a partner who doesn't like dancing.

I haven't swing danced there before, but I have danced on the Carnation stage before. The dance group from my former community college dances there every summer (we put on a 30 min show with a wide variety of styles). I've tapped and done a jazz piece on that stage...ahh the memories...I may get to do it again this summer

Dancing is one of the things I really need to learn.

While at DL a couple of weeks ago, it was the first time we saw the dancing at the Plaza. It was such fun to watch, but those were some really talented dancers out there so we chickened out about joining in. I really loved the fact that there is so much live music lately at DL. The next day, there were some really good high school bands performing at the Plaza. This kind of activity really makes DL come alive!

Hey, anybody know the names of the older couple who are there almost every Sat night swing dancing? They wear matching clothes and they are the sweetest and nicest people out there dancing.

My senior year in High School, a bunch of my friends and I used to go dancing there a lot. It was so much fun! Back then it was Friday nights I think. We would dress up and everything! Oh, the good old days!

                  FUN times

I've once swing danced there, it was a lot of fun, when I was done I realized there was a crowd watching me and my boyfriend and everyone claped for us. It also happened to be my private schools grad. night, so we were all dressed up from eating at the House of Blues.

Can anyone tell me if that sweet little old couple still dances there each Saturday? They were in their 70s, shorter couple, always dressed in the same exact color, truly absolutely adorable, and very skillful in their dancing. They were there religiously every Saturday from at least 1995 through 2000 (when I was last there on a Saturday), always in matching color head to toe. They were so sweet and very well liked. Does anyone know who I'm speaking of? They were the cutest part about Saturday Swing Dancing!

I danced there once, but I have watched many times. There are some great dancers out there. Has anyone ever seen the DIsney characters dancing with everyone there? It is quite a site to see.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

The atmosphere of that little stage with the big band sounds booming forth.....the incredible dance steps these people know.....I could sit and watch the show for hours. I'm so glad they still do it.

RE: That older couple that dances nearly every Saturday night are still going strong. They are in their mid-upper 80's and have been married 65 years. Their names, Dubby & Rose and they have been dancing there for many years. Disney acknowledges their Birthdays and Anniversary with a cake on the appropriate evenings.
